She married Moses McWilliams in 1882, and then went on to have a daughter, A'Lelia. B. Madam Walker was a successful Black businesswoman who created hair care products and worked to improve the health and financial outcomes of Black women. He later tells Walker, The negro man needs to be lifted first. As in, black women come second.
